Scientifc focus:

• SubPc:  Reversible Switching of surface phase, n ~ 100

• C60 & SubPc: Self – assembled intermixed layer
Novel properties, delicate balance of interactions

• Reversible processes at single molecule level
large spacing motivates nanoscale data storage
  conformational and positional bi-stability

• 2D physics: complex phase behaviour,
specific heat and vibronic / electronic excitations

• 2D Self Assembly enters the ‚third dimension‘:
  ‚allosteric‘ mechanisms / conformation / flexibility
  adsorbate-adsorbent interaction: 2D zeolithes

• 2D ‘planar networks’ as templates for hierarchical assembly
templates for molecular scale date storage and devices

ordered molecular layers

Currents, Fields & Forces make up the experiment!
